Scientists found that about 50% of the obese women participating in the study did not have sufficient calcium in their system. For instance, foods loaded with fiber like wheat and beans contain high levels of phytate. Spinach (even though it is a green leafy vegetable), beet greens and rhubarb are high in oxalate. Eating great amounts of animal protein (meat) can cause calcium absence as well.
